Early Voting Centers now open at La Serna Highschool, California Highschool, and East Whittier middle school.
Irma Rodriguez Moisa is running for a seat on the Whittier Union High School District’s Board of Trustees.
She is a supporter of accessible and competitive public education.
I was born and raised in Ventura County— the daughter and granddaughter of farm workers.
My parents and family taught me the value of family, hard work, and service.
During these formative years, I learned that education was the key to achieving my full potential. I am the proud product of public education and have several family members who are teachers in our public school system.

Moisa’s Agenda
Opportunities are different for each child, and I want to ensure all future students and families in the District have these same opportunities to excel.
-
Maintain and build on the expectation of academic excellence for all of our students. We must also invest in extra-curricular activities as those activities provide valuable experiences that shape our students’ futures.
-
Ensure that all students and families are engaged in their education. We need to assess how many students we have lost due to the pandemic and how to bring them back. We must also work to ensure that all students are actively making progress towards their educational goals so they can reach their full potential.
-
Make financially responsible decisions to ensure the District has needed resources for student success. The state is likely to face a recession within the next four years and planning for this is critical to maintaining sufficient funding for our schools.
Also, provide oversight for pending construction and capital improvement projects and push for investments in technology to maintain innovative teaching and programs.
-
Preserve the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff. It is critical that our students feel safe attending school, and that faculty and staff teach in a safe environment.
We must also provide resources to address the mental health of our students, faculty, and staff.
